The globe is getting smaller
It used to be that a disaster in a far-off province of some far-off continent would not be known about for weeks - if at all. In today’s world, however, we can watch same-day streaming video of events that are affecting other people in other parts of the world. With increasing knowledge, do we have increasing responsibility?
At a minimum, we have increasing opportunity! ACTS Church Lakeway is already crossing national and cultural boundaries to serve others in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Some of our ‘world mission’ trips focus on providing shoes and school supplies. Others reach out with acts of mercy. Others provide training for medical professionals or for church pastors. Others link with non-profit groups to build homes or provide light construction. Others combine any or all of the above. But regardless of the nature of the interaction, we find these adventures to be transformational!
