Real space
When we hear the term ‘MySpace,’ we might immediately think of a social networking site found on the internet. But what if ‘MySpace’ filled real space? What if ‘MySpace’ consisted of all the spheres where we worked, learned, ate, shopped, and exercised?

It is no accident that God has placed us in a complex network of relationships. God has deliberately linked each of our lives to the lives of those who spend their time in the same spaces as we do. Followers of Jesus are reminded to keep their eyes open and to act when possible: “Be watchful and thankful... Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders. Make the most of every opportunity” (Colossians 4:2, 4).
Making the most of our space doesn’t have to be complicated. It might begin with a simple decision to love with the heart of Christ. Or to gratefully serve with the hands of Christ. Or to patiently listen with the compassion of Christ. Or to boldly speak the message of Christ. Or to passionately live out the hope we have in Christ.

‘Sending’ begins where we live. Outreach begins as we build relationships, with no agenda, within our family and circle of friends. It extends to our neighbors, our co-workers, and our classmates. And before we know it, God is sending us with His transforming power into the spaces that only we know best.
