Local Church
Beyond a building
The local church could be thought of as ‘shared space’ for those who know and follow Christ. Much more than a building, it is made up of people who have put their faith in Jesus as the only One who can rescue them from their tangled motives and wrong actions. Released from a life of self-service, they grow in love and gratitude and action.

Those who make up the Church commit to meet regularly, usually in a church building. There they join together in a public expression of their faith in God, in a form of interaction called ‘worship.’ When the people of the Church come together in their weekly Gatherings, there they find forgiveness and encouragement. They count on the Grace that comes actively through the Word of God and through powerful interactive experiences. There they also begin to live out Jesus’ command to serve one another. They begin to share their skills, experiences, and financial resources, so that the mission of Christ can be advanced.
To help us coordinate the planning and the people who make our weekly Gatherings possible, we use an interactive resource called Worshipplanning.com. Follow the link to share your upcoming schedule and to view the calendar of those who are being ‘sent’ within the context of the local church. If you are just getting started in serving at ACTS, just email us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and let us know your area of involvement (KidsQuest, Nursery, worship, prayer, tech, First Impressions, cafe, or parking). We will get you set up with a user name so you can access this planning tool - and experience what it is like to be ‘Sent’ within the context of the local church!
