In the past couple of years, a lot has happened to our little local church. It has been re-named, re-located, re-visioned, re-energized, and re-financed. Only 8 months ago we moved into our own facility at Mountain Top. And only four month ago we began gathering on Saturday nights, as well as Sunday mornings, for regular infusions of Adventure, Community, Transformation, and Sending. We now are seeing 160 people participating regularly each weekend. We continue to "send changed people into a changing world." We continue to focus on BEing the Church 'out there'... while creating structures and training people for the …

Culture is a great blessing: without culture we would have no Italian shoes, no Thai curry, and no German beer. However, culture can also be an obstacle to important change.
Unfortunately, 'Cultural Christianity' in America has developed in such a way as to dictate the behaviors and expectations of many church members. Christians have largely gotten into the pattern of "going" to church - and have gotten unaccustomed to "being" the church. ACTS Church has made every attempt to be counter-cultural. As long as I can remember, my parents have been growing tomatoes in their garden. Every spring they set tender green plants into brown earth, and every summer they pick dozens of ripe red tomatoes. My dad's secret to such a high yield is contained, in part, by the metal cages he places around the plants. The cages provide support for the sprawling green vines and keep the juicy tomatoes from rotting against the ground. As the vines find support, they climb upward towards the sunlight and happily produce more fruit (the tomato IS a fruit, you know)!
