The mighty cross

The Cross is more than a powerful Christian symbol: it is good news to the world. The cross reminds us that Jesus - God himself - did everything necessary to cover the guilt of our sins. Those who believe in Jesus, therefore, are forgiven and sent back out to the world that God loved so much that he would die for it. The record of the New Testament makes clear that followers of Jesus prepare to sacrifice comfort, safety, finances, relationships, possessions - and even life itself - in order to reach their corner of the world. Followers of Jesus put their faith into action, loosely holding on to all that God has blessed them with. Each day they intentionally say to God, their Father: “Not my will, but your will be done.”

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is true worship” (Romans 12:1).
