Sending changed people into a changing world

Sending changed people... It sometimes helps to begin with the end in mind. So rather than ask ourselves how we might make our church services a little bit better each week, we pose an tougher question: “What will it take to get people ready to be the church... out there in that changing world?” In the end, if we are not transforming and sending people, through God’s power, then we are probably fooling ourselves that our other church ‘business’ is really that important. This is why we have asked God to give us the motivation and the mobilization to be a church that ACTS.

... into a changing world. Our Mission is built upon a recognition that daily life is shifting quickly. Not long ago, people in America used the letters TGIF to close out every workweek: Thank God It’s Friday. However, a new audience recognizes these letters to represent a week without walls. For them, TGIF is a reflection of their global and immediate world: Twitter/ Google/ Internet/ Facebook. Unless we rethink and retool for the vital mission that Christ gives His church, we will be left in the basement under the layers of nostalgia and dust that coat the 8-track tape player. Our core values, our ministry style, and our building design all reflect the recognition that we preach Christ to a changing world.
